The Panasonic Vehicle Search software enables police forces to find a suspicious vehicle efficiently even with the incomplete information from witnesses, such as lack of license plate details. This massively helps to accelerate the time of investigation. The deep-learning technology realises highly accurate vehicle detection even in the influence of sunlight, shadows, overlap of objects and various vehicle directions. Searches can be filtered down by vehicle colour (10), type (6) and direction (8x2). Afterwards, thumbnail search and assisted playback help to narrow down the potential candidates – so appropriate action can be taken.

Up to now, it required a lot of time to find suspicious cars due to the limited information that witnesses provide, and because concrete license plate information are missing. Looking through the video footage one by one for hours takes ages, and it very tiring. The new Vehicle Search solution searches for suspicious vehicles approx. 30 times faster than manual search (based on market survey). It frees operators from manual hard work and allows them to focus on investigation. Therefore, it improves initial response and increases arrest rate, leading to a safer community.
