Network monitoring system

The SNT-V704 supports TCP/IP protocol, enabling cameras to be remotely monitored and controlled over LANs (Local Area Networks), and WANs (Wide Area Networks). Equipped with a built-in web server, the SNT-V704 allows a PC running a standard web browser to monitor live images and control the camera without the need for additional software. Up to 50 users can simultaneously monitor camera images. What's more, up to 30 fps (NTSC)/25 fps (PAL) for all channels for D1/VGA image is obtained, allowing you to monitor smooth, near-motion image.

Multiple Camera Operation over LAN and Multiplex function

The SNT-V704 accepts four video inputs. Each user can view their preferred channels over network. From a remote PC terminal, signals from the SNT-V704 unit can be monitored using a variety of screen combinations, including four-division splits screens and single screen. Display patterns and image sizes are easily switched by simply clicking on the appropriate icon, providing efficient and flexible monitoring.

JPEG/MPEG 4 Compression Format

The SNT-V704 utilizes the MPEG-4 compression format that achieves high-compression ratios, allowing smooth moving images to be streamed over a wide range of bandwidths. Because of its high-compression ratios, users can monitor high-quality moving images even at low bandwidth. Image size can be selected according to the network environment and application requirements.

Compact and Lightweight design

The SNT-V704 has a compact dimension of 210(w) ? 42(h) ? 202(d) mm (8 3/8 ? 1 11/16 ? 8 1/8 inches) (protruding portions excluded), and weight of 1.2kg (2 lb 10 oz). Its compact and lightweight designs are suitable for restricted space or rack installation.

You can increase the storage capacity of the SNT-V704 by connecting to HDD or FLASH memory device via USB.

Bi-directional audio function

Incorporating an external microphone input, the SNT-V704 allows users to monitor audio in addition to video images. Using with an external microphone, the SNT-V704 is capable of picking up sound from a distance objects clearly. What's more, the unit is equipped with an audio line output for active speakers, so that users could send an alert or make an announcement at the camera site through speakers.

Alarm Function

The SNT-V704 is equipped with a built-in, activity detection function that can be set to generate an alarm output through its alarm-output ports, and with this function, you can have up to 2 detection areas in one channel. In addition, with a sensor-input port that can receive a trigger from an external sensor and the built-in 32MB buffer, the SNT-V704 can store pre-alarm and post-alarm images at the time an alarm is triggered from the activity detection or the alarm input.

The pre-/post-alarm images stored at the time of an alarm event can be transferred to an FTP/SMTP server for later viewing. Also, the image at the time of an alarm event can be sent to a designated e-mail address, enabling user to see what happened when trigger is pulled.

Camera control with a serial interface

The SNT-V704 allows control of Pan/Tilt/Zoom and some camera settings of the following cameras listed below, supporting not only Sony's but other manufactures as well.

Network Security Feature

User access to video camera via the SNT-V704 can be limited by IP filtering. Up to ten different groups can be established by defining an IP address for each group. Additionally, user names and passwords can be assigned to allow four levels of access.
